What is Shillong Teer Archery Sport?
Shillong Teer is a distinctive and legalized archery-based game played daily in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya, India. Governed under the Meghalaya Amusements and Betting Tax Act, the game is supervised by the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Association (KHASA), a conglomerate of 12 traditional archery clubs.
Every day from Monday to Saturday, around 50 archers gather at the historic Polo Ground in Shillong. In each round, archers release an average of 30 arrows at a cylindrical straw target placed roughly 50 yards away. Once the shooting concludes, officials count the arrows that landed successfully in the target. The winning score corresponds strictly to the last two digits of the total hit count.
How are Shillong Teer Winning Numbers Calculated?
For example, if in the First Round (FR) exactly 1,248 arrows strike the target, the announced winning number for that round is 48. If in the Second Round (SR) 892 arrows strike the target, the official second round number is 92.
Because the count depends entirely on physical arrows striking the target in real time under open-air conditions, the outcome is authentic, transparent, and completely free from digital manipulation or computer generation.
